New PLUS Tutorial - Create a High Flying Skater Illustration
In News by Sean HodgePLUS members, we have a high flying skater illustration tutorial for you today. It's a new PLUS tutorial from the talented Constantin Potorac. The tutorial has instruction on how to create an awesome high flying digital illustration in Photoshop. Jump over to your PLUS account and download it today.
This tutorial was inspired by the work of The Hejz, Peter Jaworowski. See his piece titled Empty Thoughts as some of the inspiration for this design.
Create a High Flying Skater Illustration
The tutorial is available as a download package through your PSDTUTS Plus membership. The download includes the html tutorial files, the layered PSD file, and PSD Actions as well. Below is the final image to wet your visual appetite. The tutorial coves numerous Photoshop techniques and it also touches on creating 3D letters in Xara 3D. Constantin did a spectacular job on this tutorial and it's a must see!

PSDTUTS Plus Membership
As you know, we run a premium membership system here called PSDTUTS Plus that costs $9 a month (or $22 for 3 months!) which gives members access to the PSD files for tutorials as well as periodic extra tutorials, like this one! And just in case anyone feels like discussing why we have a premium system, read this post! :-)

Looks cool. Could we get the source for the skater, or that too exclusive for the plus members?

Evrything is for plus membership. And you kinda get 1 tutorial per month, and guess what, you have to pay a subscription fee of 9$/month. That would be 9$ / tutorial. And this tutorial doesen’t look to be worth it. So i’ll pass.

what you do here is just pathetic. It’s the actuall 2nd rip of the artworks of peter jaworowski from hejz.com. First the text in fire as a rip of his nike ads i think and now this.
shame on you

Agreed about the skateboard - it’s definitely lost and needs more emphasis, but it’s a nice tutorial, so thanks for posting.

The design is cool. But it makes skateboarding seem real fruity and not the life-style that is attached with it…

how can you people like this? there is absolutely no concept, no thought process, no nothing. its just like all the other crap floating around the web that follows this style.
3d letters and florals, we get it. move on. do something new.

I have one question why pay for a + membership for this…. if you’ve actually gone through the REST of the FREE tuts of here then :S you should have gained the knowledge to do this from the 3D lettering, to adding all the generic (it seems) effects,

Just not feeling it. Sure it took a lot of effort. I mean I can see me pulling out some good tricks out of it, but I can find it without even paying for the plus. Final image looks good. Just thinking not a plus tutorial.

Thx to those that pointed out the similarity to Peter Jaworowski’s work. I’ve added an editorial note that points out the inspirational influence, and his work is great!
