PSDTUTS is Looking for Another Regular Tutorial Writer
In News by Sean HodgeYes, we're looking for another great regular writer. Do you posses the artistic talent to create outstanding Photoshop designs, while having the ability to explain all the steps that got you to that final image? If that sound like you, then we would like to hear from you.
New Regular Tutorial Writer
We're looking for a talented Photoshop Master. The position requires you to be reliable and determined to come up with new ideas every week, which isn't always an easy task. The ideal candidate will be skilled in multiple areas of design, and be an excellent communicator that writes well in English.
Regular Weekly Submission Process
This is how the tutorials would be submitted each week. Before the end of each week you would send us a tutorial idea along with a polished image for review. You would also submit the finalized tutorial that was approved the week before.
So each week you submit 2 things:
- 1 Finalized Tutorial Ready to be Published
- 1 New Tutorial Idea with an Image for Review
Compensation
By singing on as a regular tutorial writer you qualify for additional compensation for the tutorials that you write. We pay $200 per tutorial for regular contributers. And if you have what it takes to write Plus tutorials then we can discuss further compensation for Plus material.
Application Process
If you would like to be considered for this position. Send us your best tutorial. Show us how polished and professional both your final image and writing is. Also, include a link to your portfolio and a brief description of why your a good fit for the position.
Use our normal tutorial submission form, but in the the section marked, Please provide a short paragraph about you, include additional information about your intention to be considered for this position.
Utilize the instructions on the Write a Tutorial page when formating your tutorials. Also, you can find some helpful advice in the post, 5 Important Criteria that Make a Great Photoshop Tutorial.
Feel free to pose questions in the comments, but keep in mind only those that go through the submission process will be considered for this position. Good luck to everybody! And we look forward to adding another member to the PSDTUTS team.

This is totally cool. More content with the same level of quality is going to be a ++ for PSDTUTS. Thanks Sean and Collis, the internet is a better place b/c of you 2.
Cheers =)
Note: I know someone personally who is a fantastic designer/teacher with a great deal of experience in web/print/illustration and I have mentioned to him about the opportunity to write tutorials for you guys in exchange for extra cash and notoriety. Drop him an email and see if he would be interested. Here’s a little bit of the work he has done.

Hey Everybody,
We’ve had a few questions about how long this offer will be up? Also, if we are accepting regular tutorials as well?
We are planning to leave this opportunity up for a few weeks. We are looking to fill a reliable tutorial writer position here at PSDTUTS. Deciding on the right applicant will likely take time.
Though even if that position is filled we can still discuss other opportunities. We’re looking to build long term relationships with talented Designers.
We will continue to offer options to write one off tutorials at the $125 price, or write tutorials on occasion at the $125 price. This long term position, which would qualify you for the $200 per tutorial price, is in addition to those opportunities.
There are plenty of opportunities here for tutorial writers. We are very selective about Plus material, but for the right person there are opportunities here for that as well.
@Mr Tutorial - Collis has been transparent about revenue on the site. It comes from Plus Memberships and the Ads in the top right of the sidebar.

I’m really interested in this opportunity but at the moment I don’t think I could manage to write a tutorial every week.
But you’ll still offer options to write on occasion you say Sean, so I think I might give that a try

@K3v - Yes we still accept tutorials from various authors. Even if you only have time for one great idea and tutorial, we will consider it. We have updated our submission process to allow for sending in concepts with explanations first. Basically, your pitching us your idea first. Payment for those tutorials has been increased to $150.
@Everybody - We are still accepting applications for a Regular writing position that pays out at $200. We are considering more than one writer as well. For those that don’t have a portfolio, it makes it difficult for us to evaluate your skill. Try putting together a simple portfolio on Behance or a Flickr group with a variety of your work in it before applying.
Thx
